RAMP’s Surrogate Victims

Whenever a victim is not able to participate in RAMP programming, a surrogate victim volunteer will represent the victim.  Having surrogate victims participate helps ensure the facilitator’s neutrality during the restorative justice process and provides community input into the process.

RAMP’s surrogate victim volunteers are vetted in an interview process and thoroughly trained to ensure a fair outcome.  Surrogate victim volunteers are also bound by confidentiality and the Surrogate Victim Policy that RAMP developed.
